Bohemian living in a tiny house
‘La bohème meant we’re happy’. Charles Aznavour.
Do you dream of a life of simplicity, freedom and inspiration? Do you live from day to day, with a wandering spirit, and are you looking for the atypical? Yes, you’re definitely the bohemian type 🙂
The term ” bohemian ” to describe a nomadic lifestyle has its origins in the “Hippie Trail”, the crossing from Europe to Asia undertaken by hippies in the 60s.
Even today, the bohemian spirit is synonymous with travel, nature and discovery. Often criticized for being too original and whimsical, a bohemian person seeks above all to break free from societal norms to live independently and autonomously.
In this article, discover the advantages of a Tiny House for a nomadic lifestyle and follow the advice of Sophie, interior designer at BANIAN CABANAto furnish this tiny home in bohemian style.
Tiny house living: bohemian living with all the comforts of home
Far from social conformism and so-called traditional housing, the Tiny House is a nomadic housing solution for those who want a bohemian lifestyle, with no particular attachment to a geographical point.
A true place of resources and inspiration, your bohemian Tiny House will follow you wherever you go to discover new horizons.
Lightweight and easy to transport, this mini house on wheels also has the advantage of being a comfortable and solid alternative habitat. So, whether you’re out for a few days or a longer trip, with your Tiny House you’ll be able to settle in quickly and enjoy your new surroundings.
Totally in keeping with the bohemian spirit, the Tiny is a nomadic dwelling that allows you to give back all its importance to the outdoors. By a lake, in the countryside or on the edge of a forest, your tiny home on wheels lets you choose the environment that surrounds you and enjoy it to the full.
A nomadic habitat for connecting and disconnecting whenever you want
For every new desire, a new place… A new life begins!
Detach yourself from the standard “one plot for one house” and get in touch with your personal needs.
Would you like to discover new cultures? New landscapes? Or just a simple, mobile, eco-friendly place to live? The Tiny House will meet all your expectations.
It can even become a very quick way to cut yourself off from routine. By choosing a pleasant, relaxing outdoor environment and decorating your home in bohemian style!
It’s the ideal place to disconnect for people whose jobs require them to be hyper-connected. The Tiny House will enable ‘Digital Nomads’ to alternate easily between their work on digital technology and their need to get away from it all in their bohemian home.
Design ideas for a bohemian tiny house
To take our search for inspiration for bohemian Tiny House living a step further, we asked Sophie, interior designer at BANIAN CABANA .
Largely inspired by her travels and slow deco, she shares her ideas for decorating a bohemian Tiny :
- Bohemian style is reminiscent of the nomadic spirit. It’s a decorating spirit that’s alive, not frozen, and so it’s a trend that works perfectly with the tiny house lifestyle. A tiny house can be moved around, and is a habitat synonymous with freedom. This small space is conducive to atypical decoration, which suits you and makes this place so warm and inviting. This is how you can use the boho style, each in their own way!
This desire for unrestricted living is reflected in the design of bohemian spaces, which are free to express our desires and interpret this trend in our own way. We can find inspiration in what we like, in the feeling of freedom offered by a living space such as a tiny house. Bohemian style can be mixed with other styles.
Antique or atypical pieces will be highlighted alongside more classic elements, for example. You can also play between minimalism and accumulation, bearing in mind thata small space should not be overloaded so as not to suffocate it.
Boho decoration advocates a return to the essential, to nature. So it’s by giving free rein to our desires that it comes into its own. It’s inspired by travel, mixing souvenirs of all origins in a melting-pot style that makes for an eclectic home.
It’s time to get artistic! Of course, plants of all kinds are welcome, as much as you like.
Warm colors and natural materials blend here: terracotta highlights a cactus next to a linen hammock. You can imagine yourself reading a book under a wool blanket on a cool evening. And to make your home on wheels welcoming, choose soft lighting in a variety of forms (lamps, garlands, candles, etc.) and dare to use patterns on textiles!
Inspired by the gypsy lifestyle, this nomadic decorating spirit is not only aesthetically pleasing and warm, but also economical. It finds all its charm in antique, mottled or recycled objects, and is totally in line with the Slow Deco movement (discover it on my blog), which also sells the art of DIY (Do It Yourself). Furniture made from wooden pallets, and other creations based on recycled materials and objects, are now king in small living rooms and other rooms.
The bohemian trend is suitable for all spaces, whether indoors or out: you can use vintage elements to give style to a terrace with a few oriental rugs, a pretty garland of lights and a cosy relaxation area made of cushions. The whole set can be moved and used indoors on rainy days …
It’s a vacation spirit of total disconnection and an art of living that leaves room for imperfection. Twisted, slightly dented objects that tell a story have their place here.
