Furnish your home with made-to-measure furniture
Whether you’re in the middle of a decorating project, moving into a new home or just looking to change your furniture to save space, what you really want is to feel good at home!
Yes, but here’s the thing… We often find ourselves either lost in the aisles of a specialist department store, buying a piece of furniture (or indeed the whole kitchen…) which will certainly do the job, but which we won’t be able to see painted again any time soon, or whose finish frankly leaves something to be desired and won’t stand the test of time (ouh the door that sticks in your hands… yes, that’s true ^^).
Either we spend hours trying to find a piece of furniture on leboncoin that’s as close as possible to what we have in mind, but not really; or we place a small express order on Amazon & Cie (sacrilege!), crossing our fingers that the quality isn’t too bad and turning a blind eye to our carbon footprint…
And if, on top of that, you’re like us and the slightest element that doesn’t fit in horrifies you to the TOP of your lungs!
A book that’s too big and can’t be stored vertically in the bookcase, a dress that’s too long and hangs on the floor in the closet, that magnificent decorative object that, poor thing, is totally invisible in this piece of furniture, door handles that are simply too ugly, that console that’s too wide or, on the contrary, not deep enough, …
In short, we’re rarely fully satisfied! Don’t get us wrong, we’re not the ones who are too demanding, we just like perfection, it’s different and there’s nothing wrong with that ^^.
But my little finger tells me that you’d be more appeased with a piece of custom-made furniture that perfectly matches your needs and taste.
Imagine: the ideal dressing room created especially for your clothes, an ultra-functional made-to-measure kitchen that corresponds exactly to your way of storing and cooking, where every pot, every frying pan, every element has its place, even your food processor or raclette machine. Nothing is in the way, everything is optimized…
Ah, the dream… Well, good news! You can achieve this by integrating bespoke furniture into your apartment or house! Because yes, ladies and gentlemen, as the saying goes: “It’s not the home that has to adapt to the furniture, but the furniture that has to adapt to the home. “
And just as well, because at Casakub, that’s clearly what we’re all about: using our know-how to help you create the made-to-measure furniture of your dreams ! Follow us as we explain in this article everything you need to know to design your bespoke furniture project!
You’re unique, and so is your furniture!
Even before talking about the originality and quality of custom-made furniture, its first advantage is that it makes the most of the entire surface area of your home. Every space can be optimized!
Whether you have a classic home or an atypical dwelling such as a sloping apartment, an architect’s house, a loft, a large mansion or a small studio, you can install custom-made furniture in every room (even the toilet ^^) and thus save m² with optimized storage space.
You can fit out every nook and cranny of your home: under the eaves, the hallway, the staircase, and even add an extra room with the creation of a mezzanine, for example! With this totally optimized living space, integrated into your home, your interior design is much more harmonious and your living space is freed up.
To make the most of the space in your home, don’t forget that bespoke furniture is by definition functional, and can therefore be used for a number of purposes: a bookcase can be transformed into an office space, or used as a room divider.
Another strong point of made-to-measure furniture is its quality!
Forget the standards of specialty stores that have a business model based essentially on prices and which necessarily reduce the quality and durability of their products.
Custom-made furniture made in France is in no way comparable. We don’t operate on the same economic and manufacturing logic.
10 reasons to buy custom-made furniture
- Materials selected for their quality: solid wood, laminate or poplar plywood.
- French origin of materials from sustainably managed forests.
- High-end hardware (e.g. Blum ).
- Meticulous finishing by a team of carpenters.
- The work is carried out entirely by hand, with no automated production.
- High standards at every stage in the manufacture of made-to-measure furniture.
- A unique, fully customizable piece of furniture.
- A furniture warranty ranging from 2 to 10 years.
- Expert advice, flexibility and responsiveness.
- A lasting investment in the value of your home.
Design a bespoke piece of furniture worthy of a decorating magazine
Let your imagination run wild and put yourself in the shoes of the greatest furniture designers for a moment: creativity has no limits!
Of course, the next step is to consider the feasibility of the project, the laws of gravity and the budget, but we’re not there yet. To get started, list and/or draw your dream furniture!
We’ve put together a list of questions to help you design your future bespoke furniture:
- What custom-made furniture do you want? What function(s) will it serve?
- How do you see it? What type of decoration do you like? Don’t hesitate to look for inspiration in decorating magazines, on Pinterest, Houzz, Lilm or Instagram!
- Which items should be stored here? Should they be hidden or displayed?
- What is their number, their size, their weight? For example, the number of books in a library, or the number of utensils in a kitchen.
- Do these objects have to be easily accessible?
- Will there be cables to hide in the cabinet? Like a custom-made TV cabinet, for example.
- How much light do you want? Will the custom-built unit need to incorporate lighting fixtures? If so, which ones: spotlights, LEDs, etc.?
- Door type: sliding or hinged? Which opening system: door knobs, handles or press-to-open?
- What accessories would you like to integrate into your custom-made furniture? For example, drawers, rods, sliding trays, etc.
- What shape would you like the legs to take? Their dimensions, their material?
- What are the measurements of your furniture? Don’t forget to take into account complaints, switches, etc…
- What material(s) would you like to use for your custom-made furniture? What color(s)? Matte or gloss?
Then it’s time to talk to our Casakub experts about the feasibility of your made-to-measure furniture project. Some elements may need to be revised for the final project, but they will always be designed as closely as possible to your wishes. Then you’ll receive your 3D design , and the manufacturing process will begin!
Buying made-to-measure furniture, a sustainable investment
So you see, when you buy bespoke furniture, you’re paying for quality, originality, solidity and craftsmanship.
It means choosing to invest in a piece of furniture that will be unlike any other and will last for many years. So that it can be passed on to your children or become an asset to the value of your home! Tailor-made dressing rooms, built-in closets, fully-equipped kitchens – these are just some of the features that attract potential buyers!
How much does custom-made furniture cost? As prices vary according to materials, hardware and accessories (drawers, doors, etc.), it is not possible to establish a fixed price.

Made-to-measure dining table | from €1,200 |
Custom-made TV stands | from €700 |
