How to install a pool house by the pool?
Spring is here and you’re diving into ideas for your outdoor layout? A relaxation area with garden furniture and parasol: check . A vegetable garden where you can grow your own tomatoes and strawberries: check .
A swimming pool to keep the whole family cool: check again. All that’s missing now is a pool house to store all your pool equipment. And why not turn it into an additional living space?
Summer kitchen, SPA with hammam, sauna or jacuzzi, changing room with shower and toilet, etc… The pool enclosure doesn’t have to be just a technical room. It can be much more than a place to store buoys, French fries and sunbathing equipment!
Different types of pool house fittings
Of course, your future pool house can also be purely utilitarian, serving only as a pool house for storing equipment and games. In this case, you can opt for a small, fairly classic wooden chalet, or a much more design-oriented element, such as a block with concealed storage and, why not, an outdoor shower!
Your Pool House can also be a room that opens onto the outside to create a shaded area on your property. A room where you can easily get outof the sun or out of the drips, and take a nice little nap (the kids or you ^^) right next to the pool.
This new space on your plot can also be modular, for example, by installing shutters or accordion windows to open up your pool house to suit your desires, the whims of the sky or to hide from view…
You can also transform your pool enclosure into a summer kitchen by fitting a sink and custom-made furniture for preparing tasty meals and barbecues. Set up tables and chairs to welcome your summer guests under this shaded space during the day, in the evening by installing mosquito netting, and even all year round if you want to add a heater or stove!
Is your land on a slope? Don’t panic, you can turn it to your advantage by playing on the wahoo effect: a troglodyte pool house ! Make the most of your terrain’s special features to create an underground shelter that stays cool all summer long , with a Welcome to the Hobbits effect!
And why not turn your Pool House into a small guest house? A mini-home where on one side you install the technical room for your pool, and on the other you fit it out with all the comforts you need to accommodate your guests or even rent it out to tourists. A great way to make the most of this space and use it all year round!
With Casakub, you can design your pool enclosure entirely to measure, or select a plan from our plan bank. Usingaluminum, for example, for a more contemporary look; with a flat or vegetated roof; a mezzanine inside; a single- or double-sloped roof; an L-shaped, square, small or large Pool House… Everything is modular! Our building plans are tailor-made to your specifications. So treat yourself to a project that’s just like you!
Materials for a Pool House
As with any construction, the choice of materials for a pool enclosure must not be overlooked to ensure its durability and comfort. For the terrace around your pool, we advise you to select moisture-resistant and non-slip materials to limit the risk of slipping!
And don’t forget the colors! Don’t forget that when exposed to the sun, colors that are too light can dazzle, and colors that are too dark can burn your little bare feet ^^.

How to make a wood deck non-slip around the pool?
Contrary to popular belief, wood is naturally non-slip, provided it is properly maintained! You can use it to create a beautiful wooden deck around your pool.
Be careful, however, not to neglect maintenance: if left too long without care, microalgae will form a greasy film, preventing water from being absorbed and increasing the number of microalgae, making the terrace increasingly slippery.
It’s very easy to maintain the wood of your deck! Once or twice a year, brush it with soapy water such as Marseille soap. Never use a high-pressure cleaner! This will only damage your wood and accentuate its graying.
And for added safety, you can also apply a non-slip coating to your wood. There are also non-slip wooden deck boards.
What non-slip materials to choose for floors other than wood?
You can also use tiles, stone or composite for your pool house floors and pool deck.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of exotic wood?
The main advantages of exotic wood are its solidity and aesthetic appeal. Warm and elegant, exotic wood ensures a weather-resistant deck. However, because of its density, exotic wood is more difficult to work. It is therefore more expensive to buy. Finally, although labels such as PEFC or FSC guarantee that exotic wood comes from sustainably managed forests, its carbon footprint, notably due to its import, is much greater than that of French or European wood.
